Code of Conduct Statement    



The Metabolomics Society is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment for all meeting participants. All participants are expected to abide by the Metabolomics Society Meetings Code of Conduct at either in-person or online events.

Expected behavior

  • All participants, attendees, and vendors are treated with respect and consideration, valuing a diversity of views and opinions
  • Communicate openly with respect for others, critiquing ideas rather than individuals
  • Avoid personal attacks directed toward other attendees, participants, and suppliers/vendors
  • Respect the rules and policies of the meeting venue

Inappropriate behavior

  • Verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, national origin, inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces or in presentations, or threatening or stalking any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, service provider, or other meeting guest

Inappropriate behavior not tolerated at Metabolomics Society Conference events, including online events

  • Harassment, bullying, intimidation, or discrimination in any form
  • Physical or verbal abuse of any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, service provider, or other meeting guest
  • Disruption of talks at oral sessions, poster sessions, workshops either in-person or online

Reporting inappropriate behavior

  • If you experience any inappropriate behavior please contact either the online moderator, conference staff (located at registration desk), or Metabolomics Society Officer/Board of Director where appropriate
  • Please contact security if you experience or observe any serious threats to public safety

Consequences of inappropriate behavior

  • Security may take any action deemed necessary and appropriate, including immediate removal from the meeting without warning or refund
  • The Metabolomics Society reserves the right to take any appropriate action including prohibiting attendance at any future meeting
